Oil Seal

Oil seal product photo

Alongside O-rings, oil seals are among the most economical and widely used sealing products — mounted on rotating shafts and moving parts in vehicles, hydraulic pumps, and motors to prevent fluid leakage. They keep lubricating oil from leaking out of friction points, prevent water and chemical leakage, and block external dust and dirt from entering.

POLY STAR maintains general (industrial) and hydraulic-motor oil seals as standard stock items, supplying the right shape and size quickly for a wide range of operating conditions and industries.

Shape Types & Applications

TypeShapeUseMax PressureFeatures
TC / SCTC, SC cross-sectionOil & water0.3 kg/cm²The most widely used type, with a spring built into the lip. TC is exposed with a dust lip; SC is enclosed without one.
TB / SBTB, SB cross-sectionOil & water0.3 kg/cm²Spring-loaded lip; packing grease between the lips allows operation even without lubricating oil.
KC / KBKC, KB cross-sectionGrease & dust sealNot for pressurized useNo spring; fitted with a dust lip to block dirt and sand ingress.
VC / VBVC, VB cross-sectionGrease & dust sealNot for pressurized useSpringless seal lip, sometimes assembled together with TC/TB types. Not suitable for excessive peripheral speed or eccentricity.
TA / SATA, SA cross-sectionOil, water, etc. Some pressure rise possibleSpring-loaded lip with a reinforcing ring that reduces lip deformation. TA has a dust lip, SA does not.
DC / DBDC, DB cross-sectionSeparates two fluids0.3 kg/cm²Spring-loaded with two seal lips facing opposite directions to separate two different fluids.
TCVTCV cross-sectionOil & water3 kg/cm²Shorter, stiffer lip that prevents excessive contact pressure buildup; a high-pressure design with the spring positioned axially for stronger lip support.
