
A double-acting seal with four sealing lips, used in static, dynamic, and rotary applications to prevent fluid leakage.
Static and dynamic uses share the same sizing as O-rings (AS568), while rotary applications require a slightly larger size than the shaft diameter.
Instead of a round cross-section, the profile is X-shaped (four lobes), so compression in the groove creates two separate contact points — inner and outer. This spreads out contact pressure and increases total contact area versus an O-ring, reducing friction and wear, while lowering the risk of the profile twisting in the groove (spiral failure) for more stable dynamic sealing.
No leakage caused by burrs or parting lines, since they never contact the sealing surface.
